Summary

Under the direction of Digital Technology Management, the Business Solutions & Innovation Manager is responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions that align with short and long-term strategic business objectives of Kia Motors America. Solution Architecture Manager provides expertise on existing and emerging technologies and recommends IT solutions and architecture to solve business problems.

 

The Business Solutions & Innovation Manager works closely with various business units and IT service providers to analyze business needs, review existing systems landscape and devise optimal solutions. This position will also provide valuable insights for optimizing user experiences, leveraging best enterprise system practices, integrating existing systems, introducing newer technologies, creating program governance, and guiding stakeholders through program innovation strategy, risk analysis and resource optimization.   

 

This position develops policies for standardizing systems and management of enterprise systems to leverage efficiencies between systems and processes to support the evolving business needs of KMA and retailer network. This role will be responsible for the development and delivery of solution architecture, technology recommendation, systems integration, and continuous process improvements.

Major Responsibilities

Priority 1st - 30%

Manage business solution strategy and lead digital transformation initiatives. Review business needs and recommend solutions that support company’s short-term and long-term business strategy. Work with key business and IT stakeholders in implementing systems solutions and platforms. Research and identify newer technologies that bring additional business value, automation, productivity gains, enhance user experience and reduce costs. Provide solution options and recommendations for management review and decision. Define architectural description of specific solution as a blue print for development and implementation.

Priority 2nd - 25%

Examine existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement and integration. Provide consultancy to business and Digital Technology team in matters of information technology, process innovation, development platforms, solution design, business process re-engineering.

Priority 3rd - 25%

Review solutions proposed by IT vendors and provide informed recommendation. Research and recommend solutions available in the market place based on their fitness to business needs, operational efficiency, integration compatibility, data security and cost savings.

Priority 4th - 20%

Oversee projects from solution scope and design standpoint and guide project teams. Prepare reports and presentations, as well as demonstrations, to keep the business stakeholders informed about emerging technologies and opportunities with existing systems.

Education/Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering or related field, experience with software programming, systems architecture, and information technology
  • Advanced degree and/or certification(s) in Solution Architecture, Systems Architecture or Digital Transformation
Overall Experience
  • 10 years of Information Technology experience and at least 5 years as solution architect or systems architect
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Development Life Cycle and Agile development framework
  • System development experience in technology such as SAP, J2EE, .Net, Web Services, Big data Hadoop ecosystem, Oracle Exadata, Adobe technologies such as AEM, Campaign), etc.
  • Experienced in working as a techno-functional leader handling multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions
  • Preferred experience with technologies specific to automotive industry such as Telematics, Mobility, Connected vehicle and Connected services
  • Exposure to emerging technologies such as IOT integration, Convergence of AI, machine learning and deep learning, robotics and 5G networks.
