Summary

Kia University Systems Administrator is responsible for the daily operation of the Kia University Learning and Content Management System (LMS/LCMS) supporting the Sales, Parts, Service, and Service Technical training content and resources for Kia dealership and internal KMA personnel. To fulfill these duties, this position interacts cross-functionally with department team members, internal / external clients, HAEA (KMA I/T), vendors, consultants, and others to ensure optimum system operations.   

 

Operational responsibilities include LMS administration along with maintenance of overall training related deliverables and reporting. Additional responsibilities include LCMS administration support for staging, testing, and go live of training content as well as maintaining and developing system queries for ad-hoc reports and performance analysis.  KU Systems Administrator often interfaces with external vendors to ensure the transfer of data to support other Kia Motors America dealer programs where training and certification is a criterion for participation. This position is also responsible for Tier II support for dealer personnel, training instructors, course designers, regions and field managers, and corporate personnel. It also interfaces with end-users regarding website navigation inquiries, troubleshoot participant training and certification records, document system functional issues for future system enhancements, and provide general guidance regarding overall training program and policies, and any related system issues.

Administer the daily operation of the KU.com LMS to ensure end-users are able to effectively utilize all personnel, training delivery and reporting resources. This includes editing HTML backend programming to update web pages, assist vendors to publish and troubleshoot courses using SCORM platform. Provide Tier II support for KU department, HAEA, dealers, regions, field managers, and corporate personnel. Document troubleshooting procedures and provide cross-training to stakeholders. Maintain domain hierarchy for new dealers, KMA personnel changes, and district realignments.

Administer the coordination of daily operations with vendors of the KU Certification program to provide operational and troubleshooting support to KMA corporate/field staff and dealers. This includes sending SQL data updates to vendor, providing certification status updates to field, and ad-hoc queries to various stakeholders. Assist in certification benchmarking and recommend new systems and processes to increase program effectiveness and user-friendliness.  Resolve certification related issues and assist in developing and distributing all communications and merchandise related to the program.

Develop and distribute training performance reports to corporate/field staff and dealers as required. Create and distribute ad-hoc reports along with developing and launching new processes and reports in an accurate and timely manner to ensure the appropriate end-users receive their training and certification data as needed to support KMA’s business and performance goals. Set up and maintain web reports as new courses go live.

Develop and distribute the recognition and certification award process for certified participants by identifying, sourcing, and distributing the award deliverables in an accurate and timely manner. This includes announcing the award claim process. Update the SQL database to include the annual certification credits along with Q4 tracking progress.

Complete special projects as assigned. Utilize SQL on backend programming to create ad-hoc reporting as required. Assist in the coordination, production, and distribution of the annual KU Training and Certification catalog. This includes sourcing appropriate training and certification content from the appropriate sources. Guide the catalog development through the draft to final production stages and coordinate printing and distributing to end-users.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a similar position.

Overall Experience

  • Must have a strong working knowledge and experience with database management and reporting tools
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of programming languages (SQL, HTML, and JavaScript)
  • Working knowledge of SCORM-based learning content

Directly Related Experience

  • Experience in launching and supporting new website functions by working collaboratively with vendors and stakeholders
  • Direct experience in troubleshooting and debugging web-based applications for national population of end users
