Job Description

Supervise new model launches, ensuring new models are optimized for sales and market success.  Collaborate with key department stakeholders to ensure all aspects of pre-launch activities are being executed thoroughly and on-schedule.  Provide cross-functional communication and oversee coordination of activities with all team members engaged in the launch process, including Marketing, PR, Product Planning, Pricing, distribution, regional sales operations, training, accessory parts and service operations.

  • Prepare, monitor and maintain multiple pre-launch master schedules with individual departmental pass-thru activity gates for each new model launch (starting SOS -18 Months)
  • Chair monthly or weekly (as appropriate to model launch timing) cross-functional pre-launch activity meetings to ensure optimized collaboration for launch.
  • Prepare regular pre-launch status reports for senior management with call-outs to areas that may need additional company resources / focus to ensure a healthy and successful launch.
  • Maintain continuous, 360-degree understanding of Launch Model features, specifications, customers, competitors, communications targets and segment dynamics.
  • Collaborate in developing and maintaining master vehicle concept document that clearly outlines new vehicle’s role in line-up, intended market positioning with its own “passport” identifying hero model key specs/color/trim/etc. to be used for external communication activities.
  • Act as national new model launch liaison with regions to ensure field operations and regional marketing activities are coordinated for new model launch (may require travel to regions to present plans and collect feedback for vehicle launch planning preparations)
  • Prepare post-launch assessments as learnings to identify continuous improvement opportunities and to be used as source in developing best-practice launch process document.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s degree in business or related field preferred  
Overall Related Experience:
  • Minimum of 10+ years in the major disciplines within the automotive industry required
  • 5+ experience in supervisory role in OEM marketing, product or sales operations.
  • Experience in launching a new model (key role in operations, marketing or product areas)
Position Requirements:
  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
  • Work with agility in a fast paced environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
