Job Description

SUMMARY

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day compensation administration and supports job grading/evaluation, annual salary surveys, annual bonus and the annual merit/equity/promotion process.   This position supports the mid-year and annual performance appraisal as well as the health & welfare programs for KMA.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY

Compensation:
  • Evaluation of KMA’s compensation programs.
  • Oversee salary survey participation, including industry specific, general market and executive salary surveys.
  • Lead compensation activities.
  • Assist with bonus plan administration, coordination with internal partners and distribution/payout.
  • Administrative lead for the annual performance goal setting and appraisal process, including system administration.
  • Complete compensation requests and ad-hoc projects as required.
Benefits:
  • Support administration of the benefit programs, including the deferred compensation plan administration.
  • Support benefit open enrollment by facilitating webinars, review/distribute communications, provide input and validate functionality of internal/external system changes.
Worker’s Compensation:
  • Administer workers’ compensation claims.
  • Facilitate the process with the insurance carrier.
  • Lead the annual workers’ compensation audit, validating job coding and premium rates.
  • Complete OSHA log and ensure timely filing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to handle and manage highly confidential information (PII and HIPAA).
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in both compensation and benefits, or an advanced degree with 1 year of experience in either function.
  • Experience with providing high-level relationship management and customer service.
SKILLS:
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Able to navigate more complicated databases and systems as a user and system administrator for processes such as the creation/modification of purchase requisitions, orders, or the maintenance of other detailed data.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate policies and procedures to all levels of staff and management.
  • Strong planning, time management, communication, and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Success Factors or other HRIS systems desired.
