Job Description

SUMMARY
 
Provide Dealer Candidate Selection Letters, Letters of Intent, New Dealer Appointments, Facility Relocations, Terminations, Satellites, Split Facilities and Buy-Sell Proposals.  Other areas of responsibility will include Sales and Service Agreement Amendments, Nominees Successor Requests and Assistance to Sell Requests.  Quantify and qualify all dealer proposals and recommend approval.  Implement Dealer Development Policies and Procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY

  • Analyze and prepare New Dealer appointment packages and Buy/Sells, insuring accuracy and completeness of required documentation concerning dealer’s character, credit, capital, capacity and facility requirements.
  • Interface with District Sales Managers in the development of successful dealer prospects, qualify dealer candidates and administer the final placement of best-qualified dealer candidates.
  • Analyze annual Business and Operating Plans of dealer candidates and dealers.
  • Administer the Dealer Cure and Rehabilitation upgrade program to insure timely improvement or replacement of poor performing dealers as identified by KMA National/Regional Management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive dealer development corporate policies and procedures to establish and maintain dealership standards as required by the Kia Sales and Service Agreement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Master’s degree preferred

 
Overall Related Experience: 

  • 7 years’ experience in Automotive OEM Sales or Network Development experience with proven ability to deliver premier dealers in planned markets and identify desirable dealer investors.
  • Experience in the franchise network aspect of the auto industry, retail dealer operations and dealer financials a plus.

Directly Related Experience:

  • Proven skills to analyze dealer representation in the marketplace
  • Creatively think to build the network, develop sound network market proposals, strong dealer negotiation abilities and follow through

Position Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and/or internationally
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS

  • Moderate background in financial analysis and ability to interpret dealership financial statements.
  • Ability to work closely with indirectly supervised subordinates to achieve corporate Dealer Development objectives
  • Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced level of PC skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced level of organizational and planning skills to manage multiple dealer proposal simultaneously under time deadline constraints.                               

PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING

  • High level of independent judgment required in all areas of responsibility.
  • Must be able to isolate critical issues and develop policies and procedures to solve problems at the regional level within the guidelines set by KMA Corporate.
