Job Description

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Vice President, Sales, is responsible for the coordination of all regional activities associated with the attainment of Kia Motors America’s corporate objectives, including:  direct report of regional staff, setting and attainment of wholesale and retail sales objectives, marketing, distribution, parts and service operations, dealer development and maintenance of the franchised dealer organization and staffing, budgeting and organizational programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY

  • Manage and prioritize activities of all regional personnel to ensure compliance with corporate & regional objectives and operating standards as to sales/distribution, marketing/merchandising, dealer development/business management activities, service/service training and consumer affairs.

  • Accomplish regional retail and wholesale objectives.  Provide regional field management with direction on corporate strategies for attainment of these objectives including dealer & customer incentives, advertising support, dealer marketing group (DMG), regional marketing programs, service and service training.

  • Develop comprehensive market representation plan that addresses franchising, add points, backfills, as well as dealer upgrade/replace plans, business management and sales per outlet improvements.  Monitor for adherence to timetables and market study plans.

  • Investigate and ensure timely resolution of all dealer complaints & requests for assistance in the areas of sales/distribution, marketing/merchandising, dealer development/business management, service training & consumer affairs.

  • Supervise the development and preparation of regional budgets and staffing plans.

  • Approach complex problems and timelines in a consistent manner that exudes a positive attitude, and willingness to leverage prior experience in the successful accomplish of Kia's growth objectives and goals.
     

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:
BA, MBA or equivalent from a fully accredited college or university     
           
Overall Related Experience:
Minimum 15 years US wholesale automotive experience including at least 10 years in automotive field sales management positions including merchandising, market representation, retail sales operations, fixed operations, distribution, and business management.
            
Directly Related Experience:
A minimum of 10 years managerial experience.

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Travel requirements 25%-30% by auto and air

  • Valid driver’s license
