Development a set of guiding diversity and corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles that are aligned with Company’s Corporate Philosophy and Values.   Establish diversity objectives with a clear timeline for achievement by the organization.  Assess, plan and implement action items to improve Inclusion & Diversity competency.  Work toward positioning Kia Motors America, Inc. (KMA) among the leaders in the automotive industry in the areas of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Equality. At the direction of EVP, Legal and corporate Diversity and CSR, provide overall management of Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and programs. 

Major Responsibilities

Priority 1st - 20%
Develop a set of guiding principles for diversity and inclusion for KMA that are aligned with the Kia Motors’ corporate philosophy and values and position KMA amongst the leaders in inclusion, diversity, equity and equality.    
Priority 2nd - 30%

Assess, develop and  provide guidance to the Company regarding internal programs, education and training that promote inclusion, diversity and equality among the team members Champion, monitor and report on progress on actions to improve culture.   

Priority 3rd - 20%

Develop internal diversity initiatives with clear success metrics to monitor Company progress and achievement, related to improvement of inclusion and diversity in the areas of Marketing, Advertising, Procurement, Dealer Development, Corporate Leadership, Retail Leadership, Workforce Representation and other functional areas.    

Priority 4th - 20%

Advise and represent the Company externally on all inclusion and diversity-related matters, including but not limited to (a) communications with governmental entities and public organizations/agencies; (b) communities with national, regional and local communities; (c) any private organizations/entities with special interests in inclusion and diversity issues.  

Priority 5th - 10%

Provide management of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and programs     


•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of inclusion & diversity required.
•    Master’s degree or other advanced degree preferred.

Overall Experience

•    5 years + overall work experience with a large corporation involved in managing inclusion & diversity initiatives/programs that impact the business, change management, etc.
•    5+ years experience of developing and implementing equality, inclusion and diversity policies and initiatives in a corporate environment.
•    3+ years experience of negotiating and implementing new policies/initiatives with a range of stakeholders.

Directly Related Experience

•    Experience in project management in the area of diversity, inclusion and/or equality from concept to sign off.
•    Experience in analyzing complex information, making recommendations and charting a course of action for the business.
•    Relevant experiences in the area of CSR helpful

Strong Emotional Intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to interpret and summarize data into meaningful information.
Excellent negotiation and change management skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to partner easily with senior leadership and team members.
