Senior Analytics Engineer


The Product Quality Analytics Engineer is the Product Quality’s Data Scientist responsible for establishing processes for collecting and cleaning quality data sources, utilizing his/her automotive engineering experience and deep statistical knowledge, such as regression modeling, predictive forecasting, hypothesis testing to extract trends,  evaluate outcomes and glean meaning from data, that drives product quality improvements. These functions enable the product quality service engineers and management to understand and measure how our products are performing in the market, where we need to focus our efforts for further improvements to meet our corporate objectives for quality and how Product Quality department is performing relative to the targets set.

This position will require a skill set that is exceptionally good at both developing computer generated reports and creative communication to assist in growing these new programs. The individual should have solid analytics skills, an understanding of the automotive business in general, and a desire to use analytic skills for product growth.

  • Transition quality analytics from manual reporting to automated web based visual and analytics platform reports.
  • Provide research and statistical analysis for investigating quality related issues and business decisions.
  • Prepare easy to access and understand data, analysis and graphical reports for all product quality related data sources.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Automotive background a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to develop concise and effective stories that are supported by data.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of SAS Visual Analytics a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAS programing language required.
  • Knowledge of statistical/hypothesis testing, sampling theory required.
  • High level of independent and rational judgment needed.
  • Strong technical acumen with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be self-initiating; able to work under minimal supervision and under high pressure and stress with multiple same time deadlines.
