Sr. Pricing and Residual Value Strategy Manager


Develop, present and negotiate pricing strategies, concepts, proposals, and recommendations for Kia brand and all current and future products in coordination with RHQ, Product Planning, Sales, Marketing , Finance departments and KMC that achieves volume and mix targets and KMA margins to optimize revenue while accounting for competitive market actions, trends, company capabilities.  Develop analysis to identify opportunities to optimize new vehicle pricing, profit and market penetration.     Develop and maintain competitive trends and analyze competitive actions.  Also lead new vehicle residual value strategy that achieves KMA and KMC KPI targets.    

  • Develop and present pricing strategies for current and future models.  Analyze product value added, margins and revenue, competitive pricing, value trends, volume and residual targets and develop KMA pricing concepts and strategies for future models that best balance internal strategies with external factors.  Price planning to begin at concept stage and continue throughout development with regular checks of value added, margin and volume potential.
  • Develop and present new model residual strategies optimizing price, content and volumes to achieve residual targets.  Coordinate strategies and targets with HMG corporate planning.   Provide analysis and demonstrate new vehicles from concept to road testing with the support of the Product Planner and HMG.  
  • Manage pricing department staff and ensure all goals are met and status is reported in a timely manner. 
  • Advanced degree preferred
Overall Related Experience:
  • 8+ years’ experience in automotive, product planning, pricing, marketing, finance or related field required

  • Expert negotiation and presentation
  • Pricing / financial analysis background
  • Automotive basic background
  • Analytical/mathematical skills critical
  • Advanced Excel skills critical
  • MS Access, PowerPoint skills and knowledge of Mtab, POLK, JATO, beneficial
  • Creative problem solving
  • Written and oral presentations
