Job Description

Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs for all team members. Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees. Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. Manage the current Learning Management Systems and perform needs assessments as needed for potential enhancements.


Training and Development

Design, develop and deliver leadership and professional development training programs on a wide variety of topics.  Identifies appropriate external training partners and manage vendor relationships, as needed to support KMA’s training plans. Supporting programs developed by parent organization Hyundai Motor Group and/or Kia Motors Corporate.  Develop and implement effective internal marketing and communications to ensure management and team members are aware of the programs and which programs they are required to complete in any given year.  Oversee administrative functions including generating reports for HMG/KMC and internally KMA through SAP and the LMS.  Supports HR focused compliance training.  

Organizational Development

Responsible for Organizational Development activities by identifying learning and development needs for team members through needs assessment and regular consultation with Sr. Leadership, management and HR colleagues.  Partner with key stakeholders to support Talent Management initiatives by strategically building workforce capabilities as KMA’s business evolves. 


Identify appropriate external training partners and manage vendor relationships, as needed to support training plans. Develop and implement effective internal marketing campaign to ensure employees are aware of training and development resources/programs and how to best utilize them.    Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of the Global e-Campus LMS developed and supported by Hyundai Motor Group.  

Change Management

Apply a change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required throughout the organization by a project or initiative.

Core Values & Employee Engagement

Work with company’s Soul Patrol team and HMG Corporate Culture Management Team (CCMT) to implement Core Value and employee engagement programs.  May include training, employer branding activities, and analyzing survey data to improve employee engagement and adoption of the company’s core values.

  • BA /BS in Human Resources Management or other applicable field of study or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s degree desirable
  • Various training certifications a plus
Overall Related Experience
  • 7+ years of overall HR experience in a corporate environment
  • 5+ years of overall learning and development experience
  • Strong facilitation and “stand-up” training skills for effectively delivering content to a diverse, professional audience desired.
  • Current knowledge of high performance instructor and eLearning practices; ability to effectively interact and communicate with multiple levels and disciplines; strong business acumen; experience working with a variety of instructional platforms and technologies.
  • Must possess ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex data.  Ability to respond to inquiries or suggestions from team members, the leadership team and outside vendors.
  • Ability to effectively present information to team members, senior leadership of KMA and other related groups in an individual or group setting.
  • Ability to develop organizational strategies and plans from discussions with team members and senior leadership to address business needs.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (preferably GeoMaestro or SumTotal Systems) and e-learning software SnagIt, Adobe Acrobrat, Adobe Captivate 7, Screencast and video editing software.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for senior leadership as required.
  • Possess the ability to switch from one assignment to another in a fast moving and high demanding business environment.
  • Must possess compliance training knowledge to ensure KMA is compliant with state and federal laws.
  • Basic understanding of systems to work as primary liaison for upgrades, fixes and implementations.
  • Ability to work with different cultures to effectively deliver results.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
